CMAC releases all-conference teams

The County-Metro Athletic Conference recently released its all-conference teams following the conclusion of the 2024 football season.


The Bullard Knights were well represented after finishing second in conference play with a 4-1 record, with their only loss coming to eventual champion Sanger.


Junior Quarterback Tyler Franklin was honored as the Offensive Player of the Year. He completed 63 percent of his passes for 2,370 yards with 26 touchdowns and seven interceptions on the year while adding 211 yards and four touchdowns on the ground.


Senior linebacker Asher Armstrong and senior safety Donald Turner as well as junior safety Austin Ladd and junior defensive lineman Fernando Avila were named 1st-team all conference on defense. Armstrong led the Knights with 92 tackles (45 solo) and added 10.5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks and an interception. Turner, who sat out the first five games of the season due to transfer rules, finished with 25 tackles (13 solo) and two interceptions. Ladd collected 59 tackles (29 solo), one TFL, as well as a team-high three interceptions. Avila had 53 tackles (25 solo), 11.5 TFL, one forced fumble and a team-high five sacks.


Offensively, senior running back Devon Laney, junior wide receivers Davien Potts and Tyrin Pree, and junior offensive lineman Cade Branch were selected as first-team honorees. Laney ran for 641 yards (6.1 average) and a team-high 12 touchdowns. Potts led the team with 35 receptions for 527 yards and seven touchdowns. Pree had a team-high 684 receiving yards on 27 catches and eight touchdowns.


Sophomore wide receiver and cornerback Tomas Dixon, sophomore safety Jayden Jenkins, sophomore defensive end Jayden King were named to the 2nd-Team.
