Louis Franklin is in his first year at the helm of the Bullard High football program.

Prior to joining the Fighting Knights, Franklin was the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at Clovis West for the past three years. His time there included a 2022 TRAC-6 title and a CIF Central Section Division I semifinals appearance as he led a high-flying aerial attack with multiple Division I offensive players.

Franklin came to the Central Valley after heading the South Tahoe football program for six seasons. During his time in charge of the Vikings' program, they went undefeated in 2021 and were Nevada state semifinalists in 2016. Franklin was also the South Tahoe Athletic Director during his last three years there. 

 

The eight seasons prior, Franklin was the Head Football Coach at Tokay High in Lodi, CA. During his final three seasons, the Tigers made the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section Division I playoffs. He also served as the Athletic Director for five years at Tokay. 

A member of the American Football Coaches Association, Franklin is a previous speaker discussing offensive philosophy and scheme for Glazier Clinics. 

 

He played collegiately at St. Mary's College in Moraga as a quarterback and prepped at Tokay High, where he was a 1st-Team All-League selection and All-Area slection as a record-breaking quarterback for the Tigers and won the school's Most Outstanding Athlete as a senior and three-sport athlete in football, baseball and basketball. 

 

Franklin, who teaches Special Education at Bullard, lives in Clovis with his wife Sara and five kids Tyler, Gabi, Grace, Stella and Brittany.
