Michael Holst

Michael Holst is in his first year as the Defensive Coordinator and Head Strength & Conditioning Coach for the Bullard High.

Prior to joining the Fighting Knights, Holst was a Safeties and Wide Receivers Coach as well as the Assistant Head Coach at Clovis West. His time there included a 2022 TRAC-6 title and a CIF Central Section Division I semifinals appearance.

Holst came to the Central Valley from Tokay High School in Lodi, CA, where he was the Head Football Coach and Athletic Director for six years. Before that he was the Defensive Coordinator and Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at Tokay for seven years. Prior to his involvement in the high school ranks, Holst spent a season as a Linebackers Coach at Kansas Wesleyan University and a summer as an intern with the University of South Florida Strength and Conditioning department.

He is a member of the American Football Coaches Association and a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength & Conditioning Association.

 

Holst played for and graduated from Kansas Wesleyan University where he was a team captain and All-Conference linebacker. Prior to transferring, Holst spent his first two collegiate seasons at Delta College where they went 8-2 both years, won the Tri-Counties Holiday Bowl . He went to high school at Tokay, where he was a senior captain, all-league linebacker, Most Inspirational Award winner and helped his team earn a second place leage finish and playoff berth.

 

He is a Special Education teacher at Clovis West and lives in Clovis with his wife Christine and children Sawyer and Lucas.
