Bullard jumps ahead early and cruises to homecoming win

FRESNO, CA - Sophomore defensive end Jayden King jumped on a Garza fumble on its first possession and junior quarterback Tyler Franklin quickly responded with a touchdown run and the Knights never looked back in Friday night's 44-13 Homecoming victory over the Guardians that was televised on Fox 26/CW59's Friday Night Rivals show.
Franklin added another score through the air to senior Donald Turner and finished 18-21 for 232 yards while adding another 37 on the ground. Senior Devon Laney paced the ground attack with 11 carries for 78 yards and two touchdowns and sophomore Shondel Hogan Jr. finished the scoring with a rushing touchdown.
Senior Preston Clarke was a perfect 5-for-5 on extra points and a clean 3-for-3 on field goals, including a 45-yarder just prior to halftime.
Defensively, senior Asher Armstrong led the effort with 14 tackles and a fumble recovery. Sophomore Jayden King had a sack, three tackles for loss and a fumble recovery, and junior Austin Ladd added nine tackles. Junior Fernando Avila had a forced fumble and three tackles and Turner finished with an interception he returned 22 yard and four tackles.
The Knights (5-3, 2-1 CMAC) hit the road next week to take on San Joaquin Memorial (6-2, 3-0) as they continue their playoff push.
