FRESNO, CA - After storming out to a 14-0 halftime lead, host San Joaquin Memorial answered back to tie the game late in the fourth quarter before the Knights responded with a big Tomas Dixon kickoff return and a Tyler Franklin eight yard run as Bullard won 21-14 Friday night and beat the Panthers for the first time since 2017.
Following a 23-play Panther drive that chewed up the entire first quarter and ended with a goal line stop at the 2-yard line, the Knights scored on a 98-yard pass from Franklin (13-20, 181 yards, 1 TD) to senior Izzy Castaneda (3 catches, 114 yards, 1 TD).
Bullard took a 14-0 halftime lead on a Devon Laney (5 carries, 46 yards, 1 TD) touchdown run.
Sophomore Shondel Hogan Jr. carried the ball 10 times for 74 yards, sophomore Jayden Jenkins had an interception and junior Fernando Avila added a sack.
