Knights bring home rivalry trophy in rout of Tigers

FRESNO, CA - Bullard fell behind 8-7 after a kickoff return for a touchdown and the ensuing 2-point conversion, but scored 38 unanswered to bring the Crosstown Classic trophy back to Palm Avenue as the Knights beat host Edison 45-8 Friday night at Sunnyside High School.
Senior Devon Laney scored three touchdowns and added 40 yards on the ground, sophomore Shondel Hogan Jr. added 86 yards and 1 touchdown on the ground and junior Tyler Franklin added a rushing touchdown while throwing for 219 yards with one touchdown to junior Tyrin Pree.
The Knights improved to 7-3 on the season, their best regular season record since 2021 when they won a Division II section title. Bullard's 4-1 CMAC record was its best since 2019.
Seniors Nathan Flores and Donald Turner both added interceptions and junior Fernando Avila added a sack.
Bullard, which qualified for the postseason, awaits their opponent to be relased by the CIF Central Section on Saturday.
